Program Coordinator
Beginning Farmer & Rancher and Food Access Programs
CFAC seeks applications for a Program Coordinator to provide support for project partners, develop outreach and communication plans for projects, and create and distribute promotional materials for our Food Access (FA) and Beginning Farmer and Rancher (BFR) Programs. Specifically, this position supports the planning, delivery and evaluation of BFR events and Farm Link Montana services (.5 FTE) and implementation of Double SNAP Dollars at participating sites in Missoula and surrounding areas (.5 FTE). The Program Coordinator will work out of the CFAC office in Missoula, MT.
CFAC’s mission is to develop and strengthen Missoula County’s food system: promoting sustainable agriculture; building regional self-reliance; and assuring all citizens equal access to healthy, affordable, and culturally-appropriate food. CFAC facilitates dialogue, education, and collaboration within the community, encouraging creative problem solving and proactive policy advocacy. It is essential for all staff, including the Program Coordinator, to whole-heartedly embrace this vision and grassroots approach. More information about CFAC’s programs is available on our website: www.MissoulaCFAC.org.
The BFR Program works to support the development and growth of farm and ranch businesses in Western Montana and provides resources and support across the state. BFR projects include events and workshops, resource development, technical assistance, financial assistance and website management. Read more about the resources the BFR program provides at www.MissoulaCFAC.org and www.farmlinkmontana.org.
The FA Program works to ensure all Montanans have access to healthy and local food. The DSD program doubles the purchasing power of SNAP benefits; for every dollar spent on SNAP-eligible foods at participating sites, SNAP recipients receive an extra dollar to spend on fresh, local produce. This is a full-time staff position that will be an integral part of both the BFR and FA program teams, with a starting salary of $16.00 per hour, 40 hours per week. Benefits include vacation and sick leave, holidays, and partial health insurance premium coverage.
