ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW FOR ALL POSITONS
CFAC’s mission is to develop and strengthen Montana’s food system: promoting sustainable agriculture; building regional self-reliance; and assuring all citizens equal access to healthy, affordable, and culturally-appropriate food. CFAC facilitates dialogue, education, and collaboration within the community, encouraging creative problem-solving and proactive policy advocacy. It is essential for all staff to whole-heartedly embrace this vision and grassroots approach. As a small organization with a holistic mission, staff contribute to projects across the organization, regardless of their job titles. Since our beginning, CFAC has operated as a grassroots organization fueled by dedicated volunteers, a small staff, and meaningful partnerships with other organizations and agencies.
We envision a food system that embraces food justice and sovereignty for all people. Respecting and treating every person, plant, and animal with dignity, empathy and equity is a form of community care that we hope to nurture at CFAC. Our staff, Board and program participants come from all different backgrounds and walks of life. We encourage and value differing opinions and meaningful conversation around our differences, but will not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia or disrespect of any kind. We have a deep commitment to equity in the food system and are actively working toward dismantling racism and inequity in all that we do.
