Producers, Business Owners and Eaters – Let Your Voices Be Heard!
Are you a person who has been impacted by Montana’s current food regulations? Do you have questions about the policies or wish the laws were more in line with what you are trying to achieve? Now is your opportunity to speak up!
Thanks to a bill passed during the 2013 legislative session, the Department of Agriculture, Health and Human Services, and Livestock and reviewing and streamlining food regulations in the state – from what kinds of food can be sold at farmers markets and other venues, to licensing requirements, to the standards for processing facilities. They need to hear from you!
Have you navigated (or tried to navigate) the current rules relating to producing, processing, selling or serving food? Do you have a story to tell about your experience, or better yet, a suggestion for how the process could be improved? If so, the Departments want to hear from you — your real life stories and ideas are essential to this process!
Your voice and perspective are needed to explain if and how the current rules should change to make it easier for Montana – produced food to flourish.
Attend a Public Hearing!
The Departments will be holding public hearings in Missoula, Bozeman, and Billings over the next few weeks. Please consider attending one of these meetings and make sure your voice is heard!
