
We’re excited to announce the second year offering a scholarship for a member of the LGBTQ+ community! The LGBTQ+ Cultivating Community Scholarship is a $500 scholarship aimed at supporting LGBTQ+ farmers, farm workers, non-profit and mutual aid growers and backyard gardeners in Montana. Funds can be used for a variety of opportunities that could help further your growing career including courses, workshops, educational materials, farm projects, conferences, on-farm experiences, or other opportunities!

Who is eligible to apply or be nominated?
Those who satisfy all of the below criteria are eligible:
· You self identify as LGBTQ+
· You grow food for your community as a farmer, farm worker, non-profit or mutual aid employee or volunteer, or backyard gardener
· You are based in Montana
Submissions can either be an essay of up to 500 words or a video entry of up to 3 minutes. During your short video or essay:
- Tell us a little about yourself OR the person you are nominating
AND
- What receiving the scholarship would mean to you OR why the person you are nominating should receive the scholarship.
Please attach your essay or video when requested in the application. Submissions are due on May 30th. The scholarship awardee will be chosen by our selection committee and announced at the Western MT LGBTQ+ Community Center and CFAC “Garden Gay: Pride Weekend Kick-off Event” on Wednesday, June 14th at Imagine Nation Brewery, 4-8pm. We hope the awardee can attend this event to receive the award!!
