The projects CFAC accomplishes each season would not be possible without the support of our community members and volunteers. Thank you for helping to strengthen our food system! Please consider joining us for one of our many upcoming opportunities this Fall.
Susie Wall – Volunteer of the Summer Season!
Susie, a freelance writer and enthusiastic CFAC volunteer has dedicated much of her energy to our Farmer Profile projects. Keep your eyes peeled for these profiles, offering insight into different farmers’ lives.
“I choose to spend my time volunteering for CFAC because supporting Missoula’s local food community is a cause I’m very passionate about and I want to be able to share that passion with others. It has also given me a chance to talk and learn about many of our local farmers so I truly know where my food comes from, which to me is the basis for eating local. And, of course, I never tire of feasting on local flavors!”
Growl For Good – September 17th – 5-8 pm
Join us for some chuckles and cheers to Agland at the Laughing Grizzly Bar and Grill – 2300 W. Broadway. Celebrate harvest season and the close of Summer by toasting to a vibrant local food system with us! Buy some raffle tickets for a chance to win one of the many fantastic prizes. Montgomery Distillery gift basket, Patagonia sweatshirt and more! Tickets are $2 each or 3 tickets for $5.
Thanks for Taking Time to Stop By Our Table!
As many of you know, Summer is the season for tabling. Thanks to everyone who helped out, especially if you stopped by to talk to us about these important issues. We are looking forward to having some videos up along with our Farmer Profiles. Keep your eyes posted to our website!
Special thanks for Jeff and Meredith with Arrowroot Productions for taking the time to interview people at the Farmer’s Markets.
Farmland Conservation Process Delayed Once Again!
Many thanks to all of you who have submitted comments to the Planning Office regarding their draft framework for addressing the impacts that subdivisions have on agriculture. We appreciate comments from folks who feel the same way we do – that preservation of agricultural land means preserving land so it can actually be used for farming – in a single ag lot, separated from houses. Unfortunately, the process has been delayed yet again. Please encourage the County to keep the process moving and stop delaying by e-mailing them at caps@co.missoula.mt.us.
Please help us Keep Ag in Our Culture by voicing your opinion today!
